Client Bid Lead - Manufacturing Digital Transformation

Digital Manufacturing Ireland (DMI):

A Strategic Government Initiative, led by the IDA, DMI is a newly established institute which is intended to help Irish based manufacturers (MNC’s and SME’s) to access and accelerate their adoption of digital technologies. Offering a world class physical and digital factory, a vendor showcase, an industry collaboration space and training facilities the institute will bring together technology, expertise, training and business supports to help manufacturing companies to enhance, transform and position their operations for the future.

Location:

DMI is located in the National Technology Park, Limerick, Ireland. This role is a flexible working model. Employees can work fully at the DMI HQ or in a hybrid approach of partly remote and partly at the DMI HQ.

Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and organised individual to join our team as a Client Bid Lead. In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving the company's mission to assist the manufacturing sector in their digital transformation journey. The Client Bid Lead will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of client proposals, from client meetings to contract finalisation, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration between internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsibilities:

Client Interaction:

• Conduct meetings with clients along with the Subject Matter Expert to understand their needs and requirements.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to gather necessary information for proposal development.

Proposal Development:

• Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to craft comprehensive and tailored proposals.
• Ensure proposals align with client objectives and company capabilities.

Contract Drafting:

• Draft contracts in coordination with legal and finance teams.
• Liaise with clients to clarify terms and conditions, addressing any concerns or modifications required.

Pipeline Co-ordination:

• Coordinate an organised and up-to-date pipeline of proposals and contracts in collaboration with SME’s and the SLT.
• Provide regular updates on proposal statuses, identifying potential bottlenecks and proposing solutions.

Purchase Order Management:

• Ensure timely receipt of purchase orders from clients.
• Coordinate with finance and operations teams to validate and process purchase orders.

Key Skills and Competencies:

Qualifications and Experiences:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field. Proven experience in bid management.
• Proven track record in bid management or similar roles within the manufacturing or technology sector.
• An Understanding of digital transformation trends and challenges specific to the manufacturing industry.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster productive relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
• Exceptional organisational abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting strict deadlines.

The following would be an advantage:

• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or contract management (e.g., CPCM) would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to drive consensus among diverse stakeholders.
• A strategic mindset with a focus on delivering innovative solutions to clients' challenges.
• Experience working in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and expertise areas.
